Welcome to our new Senior Citizens for Pedestrian Safety campaign!

Our new Senior Citizens for Pedestrian Safety campaign is underway!

If you are a member of Senior Citizen club or organization and looking for ways to raise money while performing a valuable public service, we may have a program that would interest you.

Here in Maplewood, New Jersey, under the pro bono guidance of Hilding Lindquist Systems & Sales, LLC, we are putting together a campaign to raise money for our Senior Club and alert our residents to the need to "be seen 2 be safe" by selling Safe-Flash.com personal reflectors and their accessories.

In the days, weeks, and months ahead we will spell out here what and how we are doing.

It's taken us from just before Halloween in 2013 to get here. That was when we first nearly ran over a Midtown Direct commuter walking home in his dark clothing, and then later the same month saw just in time a women and young girl (mother and daughter?) out trick-or-treating, walking well into the street, again in dark clothing.

We looked at a lot of different types of personal reflectors after those instances until we came across Gary Castelle's Safe Flash personal reflectors. We immediately recognized their value in addressing the need. They are durable in their 7 to 10 year life span, flexible in their wide variety of use applications, affordable in their pricing, and they don't use batteries so they haven't gone dead when some late night you have to get out of your car on the side of the road to check your tires, or take Fido for one last trip around the block.

Plus with their prismatic surface they meet or exceed reflective standards for use in vehicular traffic.

Piling on: pedestrian safety is a Senior Citizen health issue. And most if not all Seniors have concerns about their grandchildren walking at night. It meets widely recognized need.

The responses to the "testbed" stages of our campaign here in Maplewood have exceeded our expectations. Now, springtime, is the time to prepare for the coming fall and the return of the late fall and winter darkness.

We'll be keeping you up to date here on this blog. In the meantime, you can contact us through the www.beseen2besafe.com website.
